Kind of expensive but feeding elephants has to be expensive too. $50 for adults, $25 for kids. Elephants are most to all retired circus elephants. Not much walking involved. Short walk from parking to indoor facility. Those who have difficulty walking, they will shuttle you to the facility free. After presentation, you ride on a covered wagon ride to feed the elephants & then back to the beginning. Very educational & informative. You get to feed some, love on them, & take your picture with them. Cabins are available and prices vary depending on demand and day of the week ($300+ to $500 a night). Gift shop is available to get a shirt or even elephant art.
Our 4.5 year old is in LOVE with elephants. For Christmas this year, we decided to do more of an experience vs. gifts, so we took a short trip and did a private elephant tour.
It was such an incredible experience. Our son was so excited, and to see him get to enjoy the elephants up close and personal was such a joy as a parent.
We got to watch some demos, pet the elephants, and feed them. We got to keep Delrita's footprint as a keepsake!
We were extremely happy with our experience, and you can tell everybody who works for truly cares about the elephants.
Nine of us stayed in two cabins, which were neat, but a little cold at night. A space heater was in each room, and I turned ours on, but our daughter's family didn't realize what it was.
Our kids are all 30 something, but acted like 5 year olds when we told them that we were having an elephant visit us for breakfast.
The next morning, I looked up, and here came the elephant, strolling down the road with her handler. I cajoled to the kids and it was instant excitement.
She visited each cabin. There are only three, so you need to book early.
There was a stack of bananas on the table of each cabin, and she enjoyed eating them all.
She then posed for a family picture.
Really cool stuff.
They do want you out of the cabins by 10:00, so we had to pack in a hurry.
Afterwards, we went to Mount Olivet Cemetery to see the stones of the old circus performers, along with rodeo greats Lane Frost and Freckles Brown.
Wonderful place for helping elephants. We went to their fall pumpkin patch and did the hay ride. It was so neat to see all the elephants. Then we got to feed them some veggies. It was fun for all ages. They had tons of rides & games for little & big kids.
We had a great experience hanging out with the staff and elephants. It felt like we were there a long time. We will be back.
Was an amazing sanctuary for Asian elephants. We were allowed to feed and pet two of the 16 elephants who reside there. The informational presentation was very educational and entertaining.
I was there for my B'day 3 yrs ago the best B- day ever! You can interact with the elephants. I cried the whole time i was there, love those elephants
